

Eid El-Assam, a Bedouin camel rider and the first place winner of the Grand Camel Race, leads the round in the midst of racing. Held for the first time in the Negev desert as a gesture to Bedouin tradition, the race was orgenized by two friends, a Bedouin and a Jew, and consisted of several camel races, accompanied by a mass festival; hundreds of Bedouin and Jews took part in the event.
