Apples and Brides
Arwad Abu Shaheen, a 25 year-old bride from the Druze village of Bukata, Golan Heights,
sits at her wedding car as she leaves her home and Israel, to marry her fiance in Syria. Since Israel and Syria are in a state of war, Arwad would not be able to return to the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.
